Legislature 101 – How a Bill Becomes Law
Curious about how an idea/concept becomes a law in Wisconsin?
With a variety of presentations by guest speakers, expert panelists from advocacy groups and members of the Wisconsin legislature/state government, attendees will learn about the process and all of the steps involved in a bill becoming law. From concepts, conversations, committees, hearings, markups, floor action, debate to voting and vetoes, attendees will have a better understanding of how a bill becomes law in Wisconsin, a renewed respect for our legislators and a firm grasp on the process.
